Our Commitment to the Community
MOTHER’S ENTERPRISES Limited.

Mother's Commitment to the communityAs a fully Jamaican company, Mother's has contributed to the country's development in numerous ways. These include saving valuable foreign exchange by manufacturing many of its own products at the Retirement Road factory, and purchasing locally produced raw materials. Mother's is committed to supporting Jamaican farmers and the agriculture industry.

Mother's is also concerned about contributing to the well being of society beyond its normal business activities. The Company has given support to numerous efforts, large and small, intended to benefit the community. Especially dear to Mother's is the cause of children, in who lies the nation's hope for the future. The most long-standing programme organised by the Company for youngsters is the Mother’s Children’s Art Competition. It was started in 1989 as a means of encouraging children’s creativity, and facilitating Jamaica’s participation in the International Children’s Art Competition in Japan.

Since the programme’s inception, Jamaican children have won numerous awards in the international competition for their artistic efforts, including the highest possible – the Foreign Minister’s Award. The winning entries are exhibited around the world, gaining international recognition for Jamaica and its young people.

This successful program was retired in 1997 but continues to be an inspiration to the younger generation and the results continue to grace many walls.

Women Footbal Team

The Mother’s Inter- Prep Schools Track & Field Championship was started in 1993 in association with Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA). The organisers’ intent is to use athletics as an enjoyable means of reinforcing positive characteristics such as dedication, discipline and teamwork in the young participants. More than 2,000 children from close to 50 schools from around the island participated in each Meet.

This was a five-year sponsorship and ended in 1998. The many participants continue to make the country proud on the local and international scene.

In 2006, Mother’s became the main sponsor of the Reggae Girls, the National under-20 Women’s Football Team. They became ambassadors for Mother’s as they traveled the world on their quest for glory at the World cup in Russia.

Every year various charities and organizations receive generous donations in the form of cash or kind. Donations of computers, hospital beds, painting of public buildings are activities also associated with the opening of new restaurants or special promotions.
